Bad news in NJ-3

by: Jay Lassiter

Tue Nov 07, 2006 at 10:11:03 AM EST

**UPDATE!! As of noon, all is well and the techs smoothed out all the kinks.  All machines are working fine**.

My fellow voters in the 35th precinct of NJ-3 will need to be patient if they want their vote to count.  As of 9.30am -- when I voted -- there was only one machine available for the entire precinct.  Occording to Francine the pollworker, the machine had been down for "several" hours including during the busy morning commute-rush.  Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
In the foreground, you'll notice Voter Machine #25105 (aka the "busted up one.") and in the background there's Ms. Francine tending to Machine #25430, which was the only e-voting machine that was working this morning.

A signed posted near the the broken machine urged voters to "call 856-661-3600 if you have any problems or a bad experience."

The lady who took my call said they had received a headsup up about our machine already but that she would call the mechanic again.

Jay .. in your pix, the yellow cord, is it a power cord (0.00 / 0)
that goes directly to the power outlet> Or were the yellow cords daisy chained, from machine to machine?

Check out my 3 paragraph primer on Polywell Fusion.
