Support the Troops - Vote Democrat

by: Thurman Hart

Fri Sep 29, 2006 at 09:26:58 PM EDT

We all know that Republicans like to say that any Democrat who changes anything they've ever said is "flip-flopping".  Of course, they also believe that "staying the course" until all of our soldiers are dead is the proper action in Iraq, too.

Here NJ-9 Congressman Steve Rothman demonstrates why it's so important to make sure Democrats hold a majority in both Houses after this year's elections.  This should have been a full joint-session forum.  Instead, it was pushed by Republicans into a backroom where they hoped it wouldn't be noticed.

On September 26th, U.S. Representative Steve Rothman (D-NJ) participated in a Congressional Forum examining the financial, military, and opportunity costs of the war in Iraq. Hosted by Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), the event offered members a chance to question and hear from a diverse group of experts, including Gen. William Odom, who served as the head of the NSA under President Reagan and is currently a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, and Dr. Paul Pillar, who served in the CIA for 30 years. PoliticsTV captured the entire session on tape.

"too ridiculous to refute" (0.00 / 0)
wow.  this is worth watching.

I have to think of a witty signature about Frank LoBiondo

maybe I should say more (0.00 / 0)
General Odom is right.  The key is that regardless of how long we stay, we are going to end up with an anti-American government.  There are no goals that will be met by staying.

"No Goals"? Not Quite... (4.00 / 1)
If you mean miltary goals or effectively countering terrorism there are no goals; but if one is concerned with keeping the American population scared (if we don't fight em there we'll have to do it here) and keeping the MI Complex fat and happy; then the goals are as obvious as they are despicable.

Rothman has come around in the last six months after being forcefully pressed by many of his constituents (me among them).

Steve finally admits that he believed the administrations lies.  Now he needs to get visibly pissed off about it.  Chances are decent that Dems will control the House next year; I want to see Rothman in the forefront of the moves to turn over every stone that is covering up the truth about how and why we were suckered into Iraq!

High crimes and misdemeanors need not even be covictable criminal ofenses; if it can even be shown that Bush was negligent and that our troops have suffered and died because of it, then that's grounds for Impeachment.

If there's a hell, one aspect of it should be that Bush has to work at a McDonalds(at ten cents an hour 24/7)  where all the customers are nasty; for as long as it takes to earn the trillion bucks his people have ripped off and that's just for starters...eternity is a long time.
