Did you miss last night's scintillating edition of BlueJerseyRadio? You know, the one where Jeff and I served up the pithiest political dish in the land? The one with chairman John Wisniewski rallying the troops to keep flogging Governor Christie whose latest hissy cost New Jersey students nearly a half billion dollars?

How about locally crafted artisan beer and wine?

This Week: after a long hiatus, Jay Lassiter returns to the stage, with his inimitable style, wit, and statehouse access. For Jay lovers, tonight's the night to join us live at 8:00 p.m., and remind yourselves what you've been missing.
For the uninitiated, the great thing about a show with Jay is that you never know what you're going to get - one week, you're interviewing a Presidential Candidate, and another week, it's Hamstermania. But every week, it's a blast!
So, tune in tonight and every Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. for a little bit o' this, and a little bit o' that.

Blue Jersey made history in 2007 as the first Blog in America to send one of its own to cover the State House beat. Those were heady, innovative times for the Liberal Blog-o-sphere and our relevance and access seemed without peer.
And then we lost the Governor's mansion and it was a whole new ballgame. So we're back in Trenton. And judging from Democratic leadership's performance thus far, this move is way over due.
The National Organization for Marriage clowncar juggernaut was inTrenton today. The notoriously well-funded, (anti-gay) N.O.M crew is on tour spreading rancor from state to state.
The good folks at Garden State Equality (I'm a member) did a great job of showing up our angry rivals, although I grudgingly concede the style points to their tricked-out Winnebago festooned with stock photos of faux families.
The real action was inside, where we had /real/ families!
Blue Jersey Quotes of the Day usually come out of the mouths of politicians, speaking truth or talking smack. Today's, though, comes from smart cookie Jay Lassiter, whose fingers itched after he read this from Gov. Chris Christie: "We want to get the government out of the way. And out of your pocket."
Of course it's the same party that wants the government deep in your bedroom, your fallopian tubes and your medicine cabinet.... but as long as they are out of my pocket i guess it's ok, right?
Jay Lassiter, a familiar face to Blue Jersey readers decided to use up his frequent flyer miles and head to England for their election to get out some British vote. He says it's freezing there and with Election day tomorrow, Jay sends along this video from the campaign trail:Are you paying attention to the election across the pond? Gordon Brown better hope that Jay doesn't have a microphone near, although it appears he's already done enough damage.
When the NJ Senate and Assembly overwhelmingly passed a medical marijuana bill yesterday it put the Garden State in line to be the 14th state in the union to decriminalize cannabis for sick people.
Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll has the QOTD in this one for sure.
I've posted so many videos on this site and elsewhere I can't hardly remember them all, but this issue is possibly the most satisfying day I've has as an activist since the Obama/Alder double victory.
So take a minute to meet the heros of this battle.
Matt Friedman yesterday wrote a piece talking about some of the questions raised by social networking including who you friend and whether you unfriend people when they get in trouble. Jay Lassiter had this take on it:
"It's just about who do you lie down with in cyber space... The appearance of a relationship is convincing enough," he said. "I guess we take a risk. Every person we friend could end up being The Unabomber."
There doesn't seem to be a clear standard yet for social media and what happens when the people who use the platforms become a liability because they are connected to you. Do you unfriend people if they have their own troubles and is the appearance of a relationship online convincing enough? Does it become a bigger story if you unfriend or remain friends?
One of the best things about spending the last four years following politicians around with a video camera is the tons of file footage I've acquired. It's an especially useful tool for expressing one's self when words are hard to find. Like now.
Promoted by Jason Springer: Chris Christie was in Cherry Hill today and Jay Lassiter, who dubbed himself the official welcome wagon head cheerleader was there to say hello.
Chris Christie and I crossed paths today at my local Jersey diner. Thankfully the encounter did not happen in the men's room.
P.S. Kim Guadagno was there too. She was pretty smooth with the crowd and and came off appealing. (just saying......)
When does South Jersey love Frank Lautenberg most? Why when he's bringing home the bacon of course. And when he snags big bucks for progressive, sustainable policy like this, it's doubly sweet. Take a look!
Chances are there is someone in your life who might benefit from a Compassionate Marijuana Law in New Jersey. A bill that would allow terminally ill New Jerseyans access to cannibis passed the Senate yesterday and is now headed to the Assembly. So make sure to call your reps today.
With the GOP Congressional caucus in full-on goosestep mode, it's entirely possible you've wondered what led to all this chronic naysaying? I've been curious about that myself, and came up with this hypothesis.
